MISC. INFO

Some of Alice's vampiric lore is inspired by the World of Darkness (WoD) TTRPG, whilst others are simply pulled from popular media and general perception. That said, she is not a technical part of any fandom, but could easily appear in other universes with mythical beings (particularly, vampires). In a Vampire: The Masquerade universe, Alice would likely be a part of Clan Salubri.

Club Takamura, as well as its owners, belong to Vendetta!

She never got a high school education and earned her G.E.D. at 20.

Alice has a heavy preference toward women due to prior trauma.

Alice’s hypersexuality primarily showcases as repetitively engaging in sexual fantasies and behaviors in response to dysphoric mood states. She does attempt to control or significantly reduce these sexual fantasies, urges, and behavior.

Unlike most vampires, due to her nature as a dhampir, Alice can stomach food and sustain herself as any human would. However, she still does receive the urge to partake in the activity and as such may find herself selectively feeding. She tends to do so only with trusted individuals (e.g., coworkers) and as such has taken to the popular euphemism of calling feeding "kissing".

Alice does maintain some of the healing and damage-resistance of vampires, though hers works in a reduced manner. She falls easily, like a human, but she can maintain a stable state for longer depending on if she's fed recently or not.

Contrary to popular belief, garlic is not something that has an effect on Alice (or vampires). In fact, she loves garlic and it is a staple ingredient in many of the Romanian dishes she cooks.

BACKGROUND.

Born in Romania to a vampire father and human mother, Alice’s life came with complications from the very beginning. Tensions between mythics (non-human beings) and humans had been rising for decades, and the relationship between Calin and Evangeline had done enough to displease both sides of the spectrum. Human extremists called Evangeline a traitor and her daughter an abomination. Mythic extremists, and a particularly vocal subset of vampiric families, said similar about Calin, especially considering his role within regional politics as a representative for mythic beings. The pair did their best to overcome the continual hurdles placed before them, but as rising tensions grew hotter, and wars began overseas, things came to a head. During a series of fascist anti-mythic riots, Evangeline was caught and killed to be made an example of. Fearing for the safety of Alice, Calin was forced to flee the country.

During Alice's formative years, they traveled across Europe looking for someplace safe to call home. With each subsequent relocation, Calin knew something had to be done, so once in Belgium, he scraped up the money he'd earned and brought a plane ticket to America. New York would be their new home, for better or worse.

Using the remnant funding, whilst taking up various odd jobs and under the table employment opportunities, Calin purchased land in Honesdale. It would make for a longer commute to work in the city, but it would mean that him and Alice could be safer away from the hustle and bustle. He built a cabin there, tucked away in the woodlands with a single dirt road leading to the doorstep, but it was home nonetheless. Alice was home-schooled by Calin and initially lived a comfortable life alongside him in this new environment.

Unfortunately, the troubles they had run away from did not escape them. The tension between mythics and humans simply continued to grow, and seemed even more exacerbated now. Full groups were made to hunt down mythics, be it of a specific kind (e.g., vampires) or as a general mission. One of these groups, a trio of vampire hunters, had taken notice to the "strange" family living amongst them, and acted on their hunches.

When Alice was around 12 years old, this trio of hunters followed her father home from work and proceeded to break into the cabin. Calin was quick to hide Alice, though not quick enough to prepare a proper defense against the intruders. They murdered him not long after their entry, and discovered the young girl whilst ransacking the home. Rather than leave her, they instead kidnapped her to use for "personal research". Whilst this was true to some degree, at least for the hunters in finding more efficient ways to hunt future vampires they'd come across, the next six years of Alice's life were a living hell. No formal investigations were made into her disappearance, and as such she'd effectively grown up within the captors' clutches, being subjected to unspeakable trauma. Her only saving graces were a cat named Kimber, who had belonged to one of the hunters and developed a protective bond with the young Alice, and the fact her captors would often drink themselves into blackout states. Seeing an opportunity one evening, especially as the door remained open, Alice took her chances and fled with Kimber. That night, Alice (now 18) ran with Kimber in her arms until she managed to find a remote highway. Not knowing where she was, or where she could go, she flagged down a driver and begged them for help. Seeing the state she was in, the driver rushed Alice to a hospital in the city. The driver took Kimber with them, and helped Alice pay for the medical attention she'd needed for both the physical and mental trauma.

Once she was clear for discharge, the driver offered her the spare bedroom at their apartment, to which she hesitantly accepted. This, thankfully, let to her developing a close friendship with the driver and their friends, and allowed her to find a community of mythics to call a family. She would eventually get her own apartment in the same building, and would return with them to the location of the old cabin to retrieve what little belongings were left of her family. After this, there was a brief investigation into the incident, though only brought about when two of the hunters had been caught in a fistfight with Alice's rescuer. The charges were dropped almost instantaneously, as there was no definitive proof and testimonies created a "he said; she said" scenario in the eyes of the State. While Alice may not have received true justice, she was still able to take control of her life. She found a job through a mutual friend at Club Takamura, a thriving international nightclub and haven for mythics looking for help. The club's alleged ties to numerous well-known organized crime syndicates allowed for easy exchange of valuable products and allowed for many mythics to find work and support during difficult times. Alice took on work for the Takamura sisters as a stage dancer, and found herself right at home with many of the club's patrons and staff.
