MISC. INFO

This character was actually designed by my younger brother, and collaboratively worked on with him.

Grayson earned the nickname “Gramps” due to his hair color being light (platinum blond appearing grey) while on the force; Stress was a major contributor in the quick greying of his hair.

BACKGROUND.

Born to a family of internationally recognized military personnel, Grayson followed in the footsteps of his forefathers. Whilst across the pond in San Andreas, and opting to take up a career in law enforcement opposed to the likes of military intelligence, Grayson still held his family’s name with honor and rose the ranks. Entering a position within one of San Andreas’ state precincts in his mid-20s, Grayson established himself as a diligent, if burnt out, detective. Though his whole life would change when a series of vicious serial murders began in Los Santos.

Grizzly scenes captivated the LSPD and state agencies, and Grayson was an agent everybody turned to during this investigation. Enthralled by the chase and cryptic signs left behind, the case consumed much of his time both on and off duty. However, his enthusiasm in putting a stop to the killer’s crimes had made him a primary target. One day while off-duty, Grayson was ambushed by a woman matching the description of the killer. Adorned in an animal’s skull and brandishing an axe, she swung blind and caught the detective’s shoulders. The two got into a brief brawl, and the killer managed to vanish while Grayson was attempting to call for backup. He was put on leave to recover from the gnarly wound she’d branded him with, and from that moment on, the case was personal. Grayson spent every waking moment looking to track the killer’s movements and ambush her just as she had him. What kept him two steps behind, though, was the sea of red tape he had to swim through. Everything had to be done by the book, despite the growing amount of corpses that followed in the killers trail. The only way of doing things, at least from his position, seemed to involve making some questionable decisions. Small leads and connections that other detectives overlooked in good faith that eventually snowballed to a final confrontation in Paleto Bay.

After what felt like decades of stalking and cutting corners, Grayson managed to finally attach a name to the murders: Lucy Valentine. All that stopped him was confirmation. Trailing the woman’s car from within the city, Grayson found himself cutting her off in a motel parking lot and moving in to apprehend her. Lucy did not back down, even as Grayson finally saw her face, and confirmed to him that she was the sadistic slasher terrorizing the streets of San Andreas. With only a knife in hand, she rushed him, encouraging him to fight back and finally “get his trophy”. A firefight broke out between the two, and Lucy fled.

After narrowly escaping the confrontation with Lucy Valentine, Grayson found himself in the doghouse. The State of San Andreas caught wind of his obsessive trail, and soon found out just how many corners he had cut. Hiring security companies like Merryweather to send mercenaries to kill his target, paying off fellow justice personnel to bypass security protocol, abusing his power to force information out of key witnesses, and more. Ultimately, he paid the price for his actions and faced a lengthy, if not lifelong, prison sentence. The only thing that kept him from spending his remaining days behind bars was his family, and their established reputation in San Andreas.

During his time in prison, Grayson met many former connections. Some were the result of his career as an established detective; others of his warpath against Lucy Valentine. Regardless of the circumstances, Grayson only served a couple of years before finding himself back on the streets of Los Santos. Now barred from entering most reputable career paths, Grayson had to find a way to make do. And fast. The decision at the time seemed fairly simple: Use his connections in the best way he knew how, and pick up any “unwanted” work that was tossed his way. Stealing vehicle cargo, transporting illicit substances, etc., the city would soon be his playground and his affiliations would remain loose, making him an unknown variable to most and enemy to many. His work soon caught the attention of the rising star Laverne Alba. Freshly inheriting the large network her father established under the guise of composite finances, the woman needed to make a name for herself. She hired him for a simple protection job, and the rest was history. Small jobs turned into curious trailing. Curious trailing turned to life-saving interventions, and the duo became almost unstoppable as Laverne established her empire and Grayson made a name for himself in the criminal underworld. Now, the duo work together whenever the chance arises, and their relationship has gone from one of strictly business toward one of a near paternal nature.
