BACKGROUND.

⁠Born and raised in the developing tourist district of Pacifica, Jean-Baptiste lived a relaxed life until the beginning of the Unification War. The ripple effects of the conflict quickly bled into their personal lives, as conflicting interests and physical violence tore the family apart. Jean Baptiste's father worked within Arasaka's counterintelligence unity, and their mother worked within Militech's higher ranks, allowing the atrocities both have committed on behalf of their employers to come to light. Then, as the conflict ravaged the outskirts of Night City, the Coastview Condos became a military target, forcing residents to evacuate. Jean Baptiste's parents split during the evacuation, with their father moving to Japantown and their mother relocating to Westbrook. Once settled in, they formalized their divorce and maintained shared custody over Jean Baptiste.

With both maintaining their careers, and the Unification War coming to a close, Jean Baptiste began to show an interest in Netrunning after seeing her mother's work firsthand. They followed in her footsteps, taking on an apprentice role and finding employment opportunities within Militech's ranks due to the connection. While working for Militech, Jean Baptiste traveled across the N.U.S.A completing security contracts for the corporation and infiltrating competitor networks. However, as time passed, and they gained a permanent assignment back in Night City, Jean Baptiste realized the corporation was not all that it seemed to be. Reports of targeted massacres were swept under the rug by Militech superiors, and the public was beginning to put pressure on Militech's advisors. Knowing the consequences could drown them, Jean Baptiste worked with others to leak these reports to the public. Outrage filled Night City's streets, and Militech's advisors began cracking down on the leaks through any means necessary. Many of Jean Baptiste's coworkers went missing under "unknown circumstance", and they knew they were next. So, they gathered any information they could without raising alarms and fled, returning to Pacifica to go undercover and attempt escaping the bounty on their head.
