MISC. INFO

Leo speaks with a fairly heavy accent, despite being in America for numerous decades. This falls primarily in part to her only finding comfort in areas of towns where immigrants such as herself lived, and even as she learned English, she defaulted back to German in most of her day-to-day conversations.

BACKGROUND.

Lèonie was born and raised in Austria, her father being a soldier for the national army and her mother staying at home to tend to the property. She grew up relatively sheltered, primarily due to the ongoing tensions between the nations of Austria and France. Lèonie stayed at home with her mother, only venturing out to retrieve things they needed for their home. Lèonie always had a fascination with men like her father, but not the ones that went out into the fields with weapons in hand. She was much more interested in the work of his colleagues, the ones whom she considered “masterminds of the war” (lawmakers, lawyers, and politicians).

Upon turning 18, Lèonie packed up her belongings and journeyed to America. She had heard wonders of the new, prospering West and, wanting to avoid the bloodshed of the growing tensions in her homeland, wanted to begin a new and hopeful life pursuing an education and career in law.

Unfortunately, life in the new nation did not live up to the exaggerated expectations she had come with. Women, while able to pursue a variety of careers in the West, were generally disregarded in more formal settings, and she now was faced with a hopeless reality. Lèonie picked up a variety of domestic jobs in an attempt to make a living for herself, including working in her early to mid-20s as a working girl. It was when a customer assaulted her that she left the profession, due to the assault resulting in a harsh wound to her face and the law now being after her for attempting to take the man’s life in defense.

Lèonie fled to Blackwater in attempts to, once again, begin her life, but unfortunately she was wrongfully accused of murdering a wealthy man in broad daylight. She spent six months in the Sisika Penitentiary awaiting her inevitable hanging, growing cold to the world around her and becoming less sociable and jovial. One day while being brought out to a work detail, though, a man by the name of Horley seized the transport vehicle and took her aside after freeing the other women, and employed her under the care of the victim’s mistress. Léonie did her best to solve the situation the just way, but didn’t take pride in traveling across the country to personally murder those who’d wronged the mistress and her family. Though, she still followed through with it, earning her fair pay and bidding a farewell to the people she’d made company with.

Léonie now spends her days hunting bounties for the local law offices, putting the skills she’d learned since her fateful prison escape to use. She uses her experiences within Sisika to try and be a ‘benevolent bounty hunter’, willing herself to work with the circumstances and try to get reasonable folk a reasonable sentence.
