BACKGROUND.

Born and raised in one of Quebec City’s boroughs, Matteo grew up surrounded with opportunity. Education was not in short supply, and Matteo’s parents both working steady jobs left them well off to delve in any direction they so pleased. Matteo took an interest in cybersecurity and communications due to their mother’s employ as a Computer and Information System Manager, though also dabbled in Computer Engineering in their spare time. Matteo graduated public schooling and went on to graduate from Université Laval with a Masters in Administrative Sciences and Information Technology Management. During their enrollment with Université Laval, Matteo joined the Canadian Armed Forces and eventually specialized into the Communication and Information Systems Specialist (ACISS) program. As part of this specialization, Matteo gained the opportunity to travel internationally and work with other leading countries in the fight against cyberterrorism.

In 2018, Matteo was taken into the Foundation as a key witness in an exposure incident regarding an instance of SCP-312. While stationed in Florida as part of (ironically) Operation FOUNDATION, Matteo was driving back to base when they saw what appeared to be a giant jellyfish floating in the air above the woodlands. They pulled over and exited their vehicle, calling their acting commander just as the anomaly ‘spat’ out a collection of partially digested remains into the road before drifting toward the specialist. Military personnel showed up at the scene to find the anomaly hovering mindlessly, though it seemed to drift off when Matteo was surrounded by Foundation personnel. This was later explained as the anomaly growing confused by the sudden increase in potential targets and lost heat signatures radiating from Matteo.

Regardless, Matteo was formally discharged and taken into Foundation custody for examination and testimony. They were more than cooperative and eventually took a position within the Foundation as a Cyber Operations Specialist, utilizing their skills from service with the Canadian military.

As part of Matteo’s duties with the Foundation, they focus on CCTV surveillance throughout Site-19. Matteo also conducts defensive operations within Site-19 regarding data networks.
