While he speaks Common, Shobol prefers to speak in his native tongue: Modern Orcish. He will accommodate for outsiders, however.

BACKGROUND.
Shobol, the elder of the two siblings born to Chief Burguk, was known by many as *Shobol the Brute*—a title that both struck fear in the hearts of their enemies and commanded respect among those within the Dushnikh Yal stronghold. His massive frame, scarred by years of battle, was a living testament to the brutal years he spent fighting for his people. When the civil war first erupted, Shobol fought fiercely alongside the Imperials, believing that Skyrim should remain united under a banner of order and protection. He had grown up with a strong sense of justice and loyalty to his homeland, and when the war began, he chose to fight for those ideals.
But the war had a way of breaking men. Even those like Shobol, whose strength seemed unbreakable. His most harrowing battle came during a campaign in the wilderness, where he encountered a massive bear. Though his sword found its mark, the beast retaliated, leaving Shobol with a deep, life-threatening wound that cost him his left eye. The loss was not just physical—his vision, both literal and metaphorical, had been forever altered by what he had seen and experienced on the front lines. His decision to leave the Imperial army was not one made lightly, but the burden of command now fell on his shoulders. Returning to Dushnikh Yal, Shobol took his father’s place as War Chief, inheriting the responsibility of leading his people in a time when the stronghold was vulnerable. Though no longer the warrior he once was, Shobol adapted to his new role, overseeing the stronghold's defenses, ensuring its security, and guiding its people with wisdom earned from the harshest of experiences. He became known as a shrewd tactician, ever watchful of the political and military landscape of Skyrim, using his knowledge of the land and its enemies to maintain the safety of his people.
However, his retirement from the battlefield did not mean he remained idle. Far from it.
When Shobol needed to leave Dushnikh Yal to maintain trade lines or forge new alliances, it was always Yagdurash at his side. Not only was she his personal bodyguard and protector, but she was also his most trusted advisor. She had a sharp mind, and while Shobol might have commanded the battlefield, it was often Yagdurash’s guidance that kept them safe in the political and social arenas. Together, they traveled across Skyrim, visiting other Orsimer strongholds and forging bonds with cities like Markarth, where their stronghold’s reputation as skilled craftsmen and warriors ensured that trade agreements flourished. Yagdurash often took the opportunity to showcase her work, displaying the intricate designs of her weapons and armor, while Shobol met with leaders and ensured the flow of supplies to their home.
Their travels also served as a reminder of the unbroken strength of Dushnikh Yal. Though the civil war had divided Skyrim, the Bolhmnag family remained united—not just by blood, but by an unwavering devotion to their people, to their land, and to each other.
