The general history of the universe stays the same, with much of it reflecting real history with key events (e.g, the World Wars). I will not detail pertinent events prior to the Cold War era since that's where Bell and Case's stories begins. Likewise, Danya takes a backseat through most of the following campaigns; details will be cut to keep this page short and focus on Danya's presence. Case's appearance will be treated in a similar manner, though many details will remain in development due to the recency of the campaign's release. Dates may be updated, especially where it pertains to the Black Ops 6 campaign.
More information about the franchise as a whole can be found at the Fandom Wiki's Timeline, found HERE.

JANUARY, 1981
Danya M. Kapitsa and others met with Perseus, who expressed fears about the US consuming the Soviet Union. Perseus reveals plans to steal an American nuclear bomb, unlock European Greenlight arsenals, and detonate them to create Greater Russia.
Alex Mason, Frank Woods, and Russell Adler capture Qasim Javadi in Amsterdan. Javadi reveals that Arash Kadivar is in Trabzon Airfield in Turkey.
Danya M. Kapitsa accompanied Kadivar to the Trabzon airfield in Turkey. Kadivar revealed to him that they were supposed to transport weapons in a plane to Duga before shipping them to Volkov. Kadivar, however, jealous of the individuals' status in Perseus' ring, had other plans and shot Danya inside the car, leaving him for dead.
Thirteen hours later, Mason, Woods, and Adler kill Arash Kadivar at Trabzon Airfield. During the incident, Adler recovers a wounded Danya M. Kapitsa.
Hudson contacts Adler to form an elite team of operatives in pursuit of a dangerous Soviet agent. Recognizing the advantage they have, they decide to hold Danya captive as a person of interest. He refuses to give up information regarding Perseus.
Jason Hudson briefs U.S. president Ronald Reagan on an imminent threat of attack after the U.S. acquires additional intelligence that after 13 years Perseus is planning an attack on the West.
During the next several weeks, through painful psychological torture, neuroactive drugs and hypnosis, the CIA, alongside MI6 agent, Helen Park, used Adler's experiences in Vietnam to implant fake memories of the war and his background into Danya's mind, thus altering his personality and identity to make him believe he knew Adler for years. Once the training was completed, Adler gave him his nickname, "Bell", and used the phrase "We've got a job to do" to keep Bell's obedience in check. Jason Hudson wasn't so keen on having Bell as a member of Adler's team to hunt Perseus.
FEBRUARY, 1981
The team is formed, and establishes a safehouse (E9) in West Berlin. Bell arrived at CIA Safehouse E9 on February 23rd.
The team made Bell relive his implanted memories to decrypt the dossier found in Trabzon, which gave several names including Anton Volkov. Adler and Park would continue injecting Bell drugs without his knowledge during the following weeks to ensure the brainwash was still effective.
Using the decrypted dossier, Bell, Adler, Park, and Lazar enter East Berlin to capture Anton Volkov. Using intel from the MI6, the team learned that Volkov is an arms dealer and head of the Russian mob that moved into East Berlin after 1961. They also identified one of his couriers, Franz Kraus, who had a meeting with Volkov the next day.
Adler and Bell infiltrated East Berlin via a ghost station and followed Kraus to a bar near Berlin checkpoints. There, Bell meets Greta Keller, one of Hudson's contacts. Volkov, realizing Kraus was followed, sent Stasi soldiers into the bar, forcing Bell to escape through the restrooms. Bell regroups with Lazar and Park, who were observing Kraus' apartment. Inside, Bell found a briefcase containing documents and photos of a nuclear bomb. He attaches a tracker, and discovers Keller was taken prisoner after Lukas Richter reported her to the Stasi. Before they could escape, Kraus knocked them out and brought them to Volkov's warehouse. Volkov notes the bounty on Bell's head, assigned by Perseus, and beings interrogating the Russian. Bell insults Volkov, and Volkov orders Greta to be killed in retaliation. Not receiving the answers he wanted, Volkov pushed Bell to the ground, ready to kill him while noting that Bell was "damaged goods". The team arrived through the roof just before Volkov fired the trigger and fled. Kraus was killed during the fight, and Park untied Bell, ordering him to pursue Volkov while she secured the briefcase. Bell captured Volkov, and Park thanked him on behalf of the MI6.
Looking through the documents found in the briefcase, the team learned that Perseus smuggled a nuclear bomb through East Berlin. The team also found encrypted geocoordinates which pointed to an unpopulated region within the Ukraine Republic. After an aerial recon run, the location revealed a massive military base hidden within the Ukrainian forest.
On February 27, Bell and Frank Woods were sent to infiltrate the base to uncover what was inside. After making their way inside the building, they realized it was a giant Spetsnaz training ground made to look like an American town. They reached the central computer and learned that Perseus infiltrated a secret CIA nuke program called Operation Greenlight, which involved Jason Hudson. An alarm soon triggered in the entire base, prompting Woods and Bell to prepare for an exfil. They found an APC and used it to storm out the facility.
Mason and Woods return to Mount Yamantau with the help of Belikov after an insider within the KGB confirmed an ongoing operation at the site. After fighting through the Soviet forces present at the site, Mason and Woods lock the mainframe to Belikov's helicopter, allowing the three to escape the site.
The team learns that Perseus was looking for the names of the sleeper agents used by Nikita Dragovich in 1968. However, Perseus managed to erase the names before the mainframe was retrieved. This left only one option for the team, infiltrating the Lubyanka, the KGB headquarters in Moscow to get the names.
MARCH, 1981
On March 9, a team arrived in Moscow with Dimitri Belikov, a double agent in the KGB working with the CIA. They used a key belonging to Anton Charkov to access a bunker 100 feet below the building. Belikov lured two soldiers downstairs, while Bell and Adler hid in the room with a bag filled with weapons. They entered the building but were stopped at a checkpoint. They reached the elevator while the building was in full lockdown. Imran Zakhaev entered the elevator at the last second, and they retrieved their weapons before leaving. They hid a gas grenade in the ventilation before detonating it, filling the bunker. They fought back to the elevator, where they acquired heavy weapons and gear. Adler informed Lazar of Belikov's presence, and they escaped the city thanks to Lazar's quick driving.
The team discovered the name of Theodore Hastings in the list of sleeper agents. Hastings was a nuclear engineer tied to Operation Greenlight. The team tracked Hastings movements from Salt Lake City which led them to Cuba. They discovered a vacant government facility south of Havana which has become a hub of activity for Perseus and believed to be the location of the stolen nuke.
On March 13, the team attacked a compound and separated into two teams, including Bell, Park, and Lazar. They discovered a lab inside the building and found a dismantled nuke and a dying Hastings. Hastings revealed Perseus forced them to reverse-engineer the detonation codes, giving him access to the Greenlight arsenal. Perseus managed to flee, while Bell, Park, and Lazar fought off Cuban reinforcements. They waited for the Skyhook plane, but an RPG rocket hit them, preventing them from reaching the rope. Bell secured Park but could not reach Lazar's hand before the plane lift them off. Lazar was seemingly executed by Cuban soldiers.
On March 14, Bell learns the truth. Realizing how intense things have gotten, and that his hands were ultimately tied one way or the other, Danya chose to reveal where Perseus was, and told Adler about Solovetsky Islands and the monastery, the site where Perseus planned to detonate the nukes. As a result of the repeated injections and lack of medical expertise, Bell suffers severe vision loss.
On March 15, Bell, Adler, Woods and Mason as well as several squads of soldiers stormed the monastery and fought off waves of Soviet soldiers while trying to disable the anti-air guns so that their air support could destroy the radar array and prevented the nukes from being set off. After this mission, Adler took Danya out to a cliff side and told him that they were a hero for the sacrifices he has made. He then revealed that Danya had to make one last sacrifice, and that it wasn't personal before they both drew their pistols. Adler incapacitated Danya and fled. Later that evening, Danya regained consciousness and struggled to find his way to safety. He did, and made a full recovery from the incident.

He disguises himself, slipping into Perseus' ranks once more, albeit temporarily.
January 21, 1984: Adler with Frank Woods, Zeyna Ossou and Wyatt "Bulldozer" Jones assault The Pines, locating several barrels leaking a substance that looks similar to Nova 6. Before they can intercept the barrels, they are confronted by Vikhor and a force of militia which Vikhor commands to capture Adler but kill the rest. A gunfight ensues during which Zeyna, Wyatt and Frank are separated from Adler leading to his capture by Vikhor. Knowing he has no way to get close to Vikhor without risking his identity, Danya turns his trail toward Woods and the others. He obtains intel on their plans, and observes from a distance.
April 19, 1984: An attempted assault lead by Karla Rivas on a camp is met with extreme resistance, requiring the intervention of a team lead by Frank Woods and Terrell Wolf. Kapano "Naga" Vang stalks after a fleeing NATO soldier before executing him and calling Vikhor that the "rats" have arrived. June 26, 1984: At the Jumpseat Satellite Ground Station in South Africa, Owethu "Jackal" Mabuza alongside a small crew hijack the building and execute the workers, leaving the Ground Operator alive. Jackal places a phone beside the Ground Operator, calling Stitch who orders the Ground Operator to crash the "Jumpseat Constellation", as it is broadcasting over a frequency that he wishes to utilize. Stitch also demands the satellites be crashed in two specific locations, Verdansk and Algeria.
June 27, 1984: Adler's team secured a satellite crash site in Adrar Province, Algeria. With Adler rushing ahead to retrieve a data recorder from the satellite before the remaining members of the team arrive. Jabari Salah chastises Adler that they are a unit before questioning if the satellite still had its data recorder. Adler lies, saying that it must have burnt up on re-entry.
July 23, 1984:
Kaori "Kitsune" Tanaka hijacked and uploaded a specific broadcast sequence at the Echelon NATO Listening Station, Teufelsberg, and killed several NATO operators in the process. Woods' team broke into Teufelsberg, but the broadcast sequence began to transmit, causing operators on the team to defect, killing other members of the team, and shooting Woods. In the chaos, Kitsune made her escape. Woods shot and killed the rebellious operator with a pistol, after which he and Colton "Stryker" Greenfield retreated.
At Mobile Broadcast Stations in Verdansk, Vikhor "Stitch" Kuzmin congratulated Kitsune for the successful operation.
Sometime after this, Hudson and Woods meet in private, discussing the missing data recorder from the Jumpseat Constellation satellite that landed in Algeria. They quickly come to the conclusion that Adler has been compromised after discussing Adler working on a secret project in Verdansk off the grid. Hudson then orders Woods to have Mason bring Adler in.
July 30, 1984: Adler was taken to Room 9 of the National Security Agency Facility for questioning.
Unknown, 1985: Danya, through relying on mercenary work, falls in line with a private military company. He uses this to his advantage, using access to more stable resources to build connections and keep a closer eye on Adler and crew; he learns of Operation Charybdis through his work.

The year is 1991...
Following the circumstances of his prior mission, Woods is assigned a desk-job with a new protégé, Troy Marshall.
Troy Marshall is deployed to the Iraq–Kuwait border alongside fellow operative "Case" and their handler, Jane Harrow, to extract Iraqi Minister of Defense Saeed Alawi. They are forced to go off mission when Alawi claims to be targeted by a rogue paramilitary force named “Pantheon”. After facing Pantheon forces, the team prepares to extract Alawi, but Adler arrives and executes him, before allowing himself to be captured. Adler tells Marshall to relay a message to Woods, "Bishop takes Rook".
During debriefing, CIA Deputy Director Daniel Livingstone reprimands the team for Alawi's death while ignoring their warnings about Pantheon. Woods, Marshall, and Case are suspended from duty.
Woods reveals to Marshall and Harrow that Adler’s message was referring to an abandoned KGB safe house - codenamed Rook - that the two discovered several years ago, and decides to go there with Marshall and Case to investigate Pantheon, while Harrow stays behind to cover for their absence.
The team uses Adler's files to recruit ex-Stasi technical genius Felix Neumann and assassin Sevati "Sev" Dumas to the team. They then coordinate a mission to break Adler out of a CIA black site hidden under Washington D.C.. The team manages to extract Adler just as Pantheon assaults the black site, but they are blamed for the attack instead and declared fugitives. Upon hearing of Adler's release, Bell (who is in America on leave with members of the PMC he'd joined) goes rogue and dedicates himself to the chase once more; the bounty on his head increases.
While with the team, Adler reveals that Pantheon has been engaging in weapons deals with Saddam Hussein, and has the team attack one of his palaces with the help of MI6 agent Helen Park. There, they find “The Cradle”, a psychochemical weapon that originated from a now-abandoned CIA biolab in Kentucky.
Adler stays behind in Iraq to track down Pantheon's head scientist, Matvey Gusev, while Case, Marshall, and Sev investigate the biolab. Bell, who had been following the team closely at this point, takes the opportunity to ambush Adler. Seeing the ghost of a man he'd thought he killed, Adler gets shaken up and briefly loses track of Gusev. Throughout Adler's time in Iraq, Bell and him play a "cat and mouse" game with one another, which ultimately results in Danya learning of Pantheon and the The Cradle.
Danya follows through with the leads he'd discovered, and joins Pantheon's ranks.
While investigating the biolab, Case accidentally inhales Cradle gas and hallucinates fighting off a series of monsters and zombies, as well as hears a woman’s voice that details Pantheon and Cradle's origin. He also finds notes written by a "Bell", explaining that he knows what the CIA is capable of, and telling him to trust nobody; he leaves instructions for a meeting in these notes. When Case regains his senses, the team discovers that Pantheon has already stolen the biolab's stores of Cradle, and also find a recording revealing that Harrow is working with Pantheon.
Unbeknownst to the rest of the team, Case slips away from the safehouse and meets with Danya. The latter details what the CIA, specifically Adler, are capable of. While leaving out many personal details about it, he tells case that even if it feels like he's doing the right thing... Helping Adler, Woods, and the others will be his downfall. Shaken up by the biolab incident, and repeating flashbacks, Case seems sympathetic to the idea, and maintains secretive contact with the Russian.
The team, using audio clues in the recording, infiltrates a casino in the resort city of Avalon to steal financial records showing them wiring money to Gusev in Iraq. They later reunite with Adler and work with his old ally, Lawrence Sims, to capture Gusev, who reveals the Cradle is being stored in Vorkuta.
Adler informs Woods that he's seen "Bell", but Woods seems disbelieving and writes off the idea.
The team raids Vorkuta, and while they are too late to stop the Cradle from being moved, they manage to capture Harrow and bring her to the Rook for interrogation.
Adler injects Harrow with a truth serum, the very same he'd used on Danya, prompting her to reveal that she joined Pantheon after they leaked information claiming that Adler killed her parents; that the Cradle has already been planted inside the Capitol Building and is waiting for her command to deploy; Pantheon's ultimate plan is to use the Cradle to carry out a false flag attack to discredit Livingstone and replace him with Harrow, putting them in full control of the CIA.
Pantheon, including a batallion with Danya, then assaults the Rook and manages to rescue Harrow thanks to a tracking device in Harrow's arm. Case gives chase, and boards Harrow's escape helicopter, ultimately causing it to crash in the river.
Danya remains on the ground at Rook, fighting alongside the surviving Pantheon members in an attempt to push through and kill the CIA team. He comes close, but fails, and is forced to begin retreat. This is when Harrow's escape helicopter crashes.
Under the influence of released Cradle gas, Case strangles Harrow to death before presumably drowning. Marshall unsuccessfully tries to radio Case, explaining that Livingstone managed to evacuate the Capitol Building and recover the Cradle.
Danya and the other operatives retreat, though Danya lingers in the area in an attempt to see any signs of life from the helicopter. There are none, and after several weeks of camping out, he leaves once again, regrouping with the remaining Pantheon squadrons in the region.
Two weeks later, Woods, Adler, and Marshall meet with Livingstone, who allows them to continue working as an independent clandestine unit in order to completely eradicate Pantheon and its true leaders. Meanwhile, an unidentified Pantheon operative infiltrates Livingstone's office and accesses his computer.
